In this situation, the cool thing to do is to tell them that you have hired a professional sleeper who will sleep and dream on their behalf, thereby reducing the risk of heavy tiredness the next day…
So let’s say you have generously put your guests’ and your own well-being first by inviting Paul Duval to sleep for them at your party. A professional sleeper, Paul Duval obviously requires a certain amount of planning…

A comfortable bed needs to be put at Paul Duval’s disposal. The bed does not need to be hidden away, but does need a minimum amount of calm to allow Paul Duval to sleep and dream as peacefully and naturally as possible. You will be asked to let Paul Duval sleep and not wake him without good reason. If the party is at your house, Paul Duval would in general prefer to have a room to sleep in, where the door can be left ajar so that your guests can silently contemplate this content, sleeping man, in the midst of his well-earned sleep.

You may introduce Paul Duval to your guests early on in the evening, as long as it’s okay with them that Paul Duval will already be in his pyjamas (which, by the way, you will have chosen from a selection put to you by Paul Duval). Meeting the people for whom he will be sleeping often helps Paul Duval « populate » his dreams, and it doesn’t get much more upclose than this.

Paul Duval would like a breakfast when he wakes up. Please prepare it according to your tastes as Paul Duval is also an epicurean who loves discovering other people’s habits, including flavours that don’t necessarily feature in his life.

Invitations to Paul Duval to come and sleep for you and/or your guests need to be backed up by a small living contribution. The size of your donation will depend on your means and the overall circumstances. You will be invited to make an initial offer and the final amount will be negotiated through an exchange of emails. The money is then legally and officially transferred to an account, the details of which will be provided to you. Transferring the donation to Paul Duval is the only accepted proof that you are serious about going ahead.
